Genre: Alternative Rock, Post-Grunge
Years Active: 2019- Present
Hollowfade is an Alternative Rock trio from the foothills of North Carolina.
Blending 90's Grunge, 2000's Post-Grunge, and Modern Hard Rock to create their own unique but familiar brand of Rock n' Roll, Hollowfade strays just far enough from their influences to set themselves apart. Lead singer James Brickey has a vocal tone and grit similar to 90's legends such as Kurt Cobain and Layne Staley. Vocals aside, Hollowfade's music is deeply aligned with acts such as Nickelback & Three Days Grace, but rooted in the teachings of classic rock icons like Clapton, Hendrix, and Lynyrd Skynyrd.
The self-titled EP released in May of 2019 and was well recieved by critics; garnering a 3.6/5 by the ever-critical Divide & Conquer and a 7.5/10 on Reverbnation. The EP featured 4 songs and was self-produced in James's home-studio. The album gives a short glance at the diversity of Hollowfade's sound, each song having it's own groove and feel yet sharing a strong sonic core.
Although officially forming in 2019, the members of Hollowfade have been making music together since 2011, and in past bands and projects they have opened for acts such as David Cook, Secondhand Serenade, Ryan Upchurch, Big Smo, and The Lax.
